Craft a good story and they will come. Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan, follows the trite eighties and nineties Hindi cinema paradigm of boy meets girl, boy looses girls, boy reunites with girl etcetera, etcetera. Yet, it’s more than that, So much more. Though the film does tag along the lines of the before-mentioned “Bollywood” formula, the core essence of Laapataa Ladies is much more deeper, entertaining and meaningful than any Hindi cinema plot line I’ve witnessed in a long time.
